Gates of Columbus was the first Bengali caterer in Metro Detroit, starting back in the 2000s, and we’re still the name families trust for high quality and reliability. The food is exactly as promised, and the wedding runs exactly as planned. We’re specialists: Bengali wedding food is what we do. That focus is why the kachi biryani is done right, why the beef rezala tastes like home, and why the last table eats as well as the first. And when a family needs it, we’re just as strong on Pakistani and Indian wedding menus.
We’re a family-run business with a professional operation, based in Hamtramck in the heart of Metro Detroit’s Bengali community. About 99% of our business has come from word of mouth: families who ate at one wedding and booked us for the next. Around 80% of our work is off-site catering: we come in, prep the food quickly, and serve it at your venue anywhere in Southeast Michigan. We work with any hotel or venue, including strict approved-vendor venues like Saint John’s Resort in Plymouth, where most caterers never make the list. We’ve catered at the Hyatt Regency Dearborn, Dearborn Inn, Barrister Gardens, Imperial House, Crystal Gardens, and Farmington Hills Manor, among others.
